Summary
Before is built as a local, private iOS app. Lyalin LLC does not keep copies of your intentions, blocked app selections, streaks, settings, or emergency unlock history on its own servers. We do not sell your data, and we do not use third-party advertising trackers in Before.
Information Before Uses
Before stores and uses the following information to provide the app's features:
- Daily intentions and completion status.
- Daily records, streaks, and progress summaries.
- Your required intention count, Strict Mode setting, notification preference, and onboarding state.
- Emergency unlock start and expiry times.
- Your selected apps, app categories, and web domains for Apple Screen Time blocking. These are represented by Apple's Screen Time tokens.
- Subscription entitlement status provided by Apple StoreKit.
How Information Is Stored
Before stores app data locally on your device. Some state is also stored in the app group shared between Before and its Screen Time extensions so blocking, unlocking, and shield actions can work correctly.
Lyalin LLC does not operate a server that stores your Before app data.
Apple Services
Before uses Apple services and frameworks to provide core functionality:
- Family Controls, Managed Settings, Device Activity, and Managed Settings UI for Screen Time app blocking.
- StoreKit for subscriptions, purchases, purchase status, and restore purchases.
- UserNotifications for optional reminders, if you choose to enable notifications.
Purchases and payment details are handled by Apple. Lyalin LLC does not receive or store your payment card information.
Support Email
If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to include in your email, such as your email address, message, screenshots, and any details you provide about your issue. We use this information to respond to you and provide support.
Your Choices
- You can change notification permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription in App Store settings.
- You can remove selected blocked apps in Before.
- You can delete Before from your device to remove locally stored app data from that device.
Children
Before is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through support email, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy as Before changes. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
